NorthwindComputers GFD |
|
Northwind Computers is the only manufacturer that we know delivers a cacheadjustment as an option to their GFD. This small module gives you the possibility to adjust the multiplier from 300MHz to 1050Mhz in 50MHz steps. The voltage can be adjusted between 1.30V to 2.05V. This module does not need 12V powersupply ! This Athlon (650/3.6ns) at 950MHz generates ~10 watts less heat because we could lower the v-core with 0.1 volt compared to the others tested ! The quality of the module are very high , the little user "manual" very easy to understand - a newbie can't go wrong here. We at OcShoot asked Nortwind if they were interested in developing a GFD with "external adjustment" and they were willing to do that. This GFD are a lot better for overclockers that are using "enclosures" for their supercooled CPU's. It was with the VapoChill in mind we asked, but this solution will fit a variety of other "special" cooling configurations . The picture underneath shows the prototype installed in the VapoChill CPU enclosure !
Thank's to NorthwindComputers for supplying the GFD ( and a special thanks to Ryan Petersen). |
